Golden Retrievers van het Wilgenveld (Marieke and Joost, near Alkmaar, the Netherlands) handles your personal data with care. This page explains what data we collect through this website, why, and what your rights are.
What data we collect
We only collect data that you enter yourself in one of the forms on this site:
- Contact form: your name, email address, (optionally) phone number and your message.
- Waiting list form: your name, email address, phone number, place of residence and the information you give about your household, pets, experience with dogs, garden, work situation and your wishes for a puppy.
We don’t ask for data we don’t need, such as your date of birth or your full address.
What we use your data for
- to answer your question and contact you;
- to put you on the waiting list and keep you informed about the litter you signed up for;
- to see together whether a puppy suits your home situation.
We never use your data for advertising and we don’t sell or share it with others.
How this works technically
A form you send reaches us as an email. The website itself does not store the submission in a database. To send that email we use an email service; the website runs with a hosting provider and is protected and sped up by Cloudflare. These parties only process data to make the website and email work.
Cookies
This website does not use cookies to track you: no statistics, no advertising and no social media buttons watching along. Only when you log in to the site’s admin area (which only we do) does WordPress set functional cookies. That is why we don’t ask you for cookie consent.
How long we keep your data
Messages sent through the contact form are kept as long as needed to deal with your question, and for no longer than a year. Waiting list sign-ups are kept as long as you are on the waiting list. If you withdraw, or if you bought a puppy from us, we only keep what is needed for aftercare and the legally required records.
Your rights
You can always ask which data we hold about you, and have it corrected or deleted. Call us on +31 72 123 4567 or send a message through the contact form. If you are not happy with how we handle your data, you can file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

If we change anything in this privacy statement, you will see it on this page. The date of the latest change is shown at the top.
