Small-scale hobby breeder near Alkmaar
Golden Retrievers, raised at the heart of the family
We are Marieke and Joost. With our Goldens Fenna and Lotte we breed on a small scale, indoors and with all the time each puppy needs. You’re welcome to come and meet us: the coffee is on and the dogs will probably greet you first.

About Wilgenveld
A kennel that is really just our home
Behind our house lies a meadow with pollard willows — the ‘wilgenveld’ that gave us our name — and that is where we walk the dogs every day. There is no kennel building and there are no pens: in the evening Fenna and Lotte simply lie on the sofa with us (yes, really).
Because we only have a few litters, we know every puppy and every new family personally. That is exactly how we want to keep it.
We don’t breed to sell, but to bring good Goldens to good people.

Our dogs
Meet Fenna and Lotte
Mother and daughter, and each in her own way a true Golden. On their own pages you’ll find their character, pedigree and health results.

Fenna
Calm, caring and a real water baby. Fenna is the kind of dog who comes and lies next to you when you’ve had a bad day.

Lotte
Fenna’s daughter, lighter in colour and in character: cheerful, curious and always up for a game of fetch.

The current litter
Fenna × Bowie: seven healthy puppies
They were born on 14 September 2026, in the whelping box in our living room. Mother and puppies are doing really well. Six puppies already have a family; for one little boy we are still looking for the right home.

What we stand for
What you can expect from us
We breed according to the breeding rules of the breed club, but what drives us goes beyond rules.
Raised indoors
Our puppies are born in the room next to the kitchen. They hear the hoover, the doorbell and children’s voices before they move to their new home.
Healthy parents, on paper
Both parents are officially screened for hips (HD), elbows (ED) and eyes (ECVO). We are happy to show you the results.
Honest advice
If a Golden doesn’t suit your life right now, we’ll tell you. An honest conversation is better than a puppy in the wrong place.
Help for life
House training, adolescence, food or an older dog: you can always call or message us, even when your puppy is long grown up.
Experiences
How our puppies are doing
We stay in touch with every family. They send photos, ask for advice and sometimes simply drop by with their dog. Read all experiences.

From the very first night at home Moos was so calm. Marieke had told us exactly what to expect — and we could always call. We did, often.
Sanne and Rick from Heiloowith Moos, 2023 litter

After our previous dog we weren’t sure we were up to it again. Joost took all the time in the world for our questions. Dex is five now and the best walking companion we could wish for.
Gerard and Wil from Castricumwith Dex, 2021 litter

I got photos and a message every week. When I collected Pip she already knew my voice a little. Every puppy deserves such a warm start.
