Getting a puppy

From first meeting to coming home

You don’t choose a puppy in an afternoon. Here is the whole process, what a puppy costs and comes with, and the questions we are asked most often.

The process

Four steps to your puppy

Getting acquainted

Whenever suits you

You call us or fill in the form, and we arrange a visit at our home. You meet Fenna and Lotte and see how they live. That way we get to know each other.

On the waiting list

After the first talk

If it clicks on both sides, we put you on the waiting list for a litter. There is still no obligation.

Visiting the puppies

When the puppies are 5 weeks old

You come and see the litter. Together we discuss which puppy suits your family best. Then the reservation follows.

Collection day

At 8 to 9 weeks

You collect your puppy, with a folder full of information, a puppy pack and our phone number for life.

The price

€1,750

per puppy, boy or girl. Including everything listed here.

Reserving: when you reserve, once the puppies are 5 weeks old, you pay a deposit of €250. We deduct it from the price, so on collection day you pay the remaining €1,500.

Frequently asked questions

What people often ask us

Is your question not listed? Get in touch or call us on +31 72 123 4567.

How long is the waiting time?

That depends on the litter. Because we have at most two or three litters a year, it can take from a few months to a year. After we have met, we’ll tell you honestly where the waiting list stands.

Can I choose a puppy myself?

We choose together. Around week 5 you come and visit and tell us what you’re looking for; by then we know the puppies well. With your wishes and our experience we find the puppy that suits you best.

Can we visit before there are puppies?

We’d love that! Without a litter there is peace and time to meet Fenna and Lotte and to ask all your questions. Visits are always by appointment.

Is a Golden suitable as a first dog?

Often, yes. A Golden is friendly and eager to learn, but it is a large, active dog that needs exercise and attention every day. In our first talk we look together at whether it suits you.

What if it doesn’t work out at home?

Please always contact us first. We’ll think along with you, and if a puppy or dog really can’t stay, we help find a new, good home. A dog of ours never ends up in a shelter.

Why do I pay a deposit?

The €250 deposit confirms that you are choosing a puppy. We deduct it from the price. The reservation contract states exactly what happens if, unexpectedly, something changes.

What about the parents’ health?

Both parents are screened for HD, ED and hereditary eye conditions (ECVO), as the breed club’s breeding rules require. The results are on our dogs’ pages and with each litter.

When can my puppy come home?

At 8 to 9 weeks. By then they are vaccinated, microchipped and checked by the vet, and they have already learned a lot with us about sounds, people and being outdoors.
